Jason Kulpa, CEO of, announces hurricane Florence relief scholarship winner to help high school seniors who have been impacted in any way by the storm.

— Jason Kulpa, founder of San Diego based and head of the UE Gives Back Initiative, recently announced the winner of The Jason Kulpa Hurricane Florence Relief Scholarship. The winner is Carson Lieske from Emerald Isle, North Carolina.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants were asked to write a 500-word essay addressing how Hurricane Florence impacted them. Lieske’s house was destroyed in Hurricane Florence, and he has spent his time after school helping his family and others in Emerald Isle rebuild their homes. Lieske, about to enter his freshman year of college in 2019, is very thankful to receive this scholarship.

The Jason Kulpa Scholarships began as financial tools for young entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams at a time when the average college education costs around $50,000. This year alone, Mr. Kulpa has generously founded seven scholarships to support students and help offset the cost of higher education.

Carey School of Business at Arizona State, Mr. Kulpa made a career from encouraging growth in several exciting areas of the tech industry. Work doesn’t end at the office for Mr. Kulpa. He has pledged $20,000 to the San Diego Special Olympics in 2018, and he serves on the boards of the San Diego Humane Society and the San Diego Police Foundation. Communities can be created anywhere, and Mr. Kulpa tries to strengthen them at every turn.
