Cintia Dixon has been appointed the new Director of Finance for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) New York Metro. Dixon, an interior designer herself, brings years of knowledge as an accomplished international banker to her new volunteer position, overseeing Chapter finances. She will support the association and ASID membership with her solid knowledge of design, budgets and revenue.Dixon comments, “I grew up in Brazil with a rich and exciting palette of color, music, food and culture. It was impossible to not be inspired by this! Brazil is a blend of beauty I have adapted into my career and life, where my background informs ideas and choices. Gorgeous surroundings have always influenced my eye for design, and I have been chasing that passion ever since. The progression of my career, beginning in hospitality and then focusing on event planning has been a natural transition to design. I came to the U.S. and when 9/11 put many interior design opportunities on hold, I sought out new opportunities and added business skills to my credentials. While working in the international banking business world advising global finance clients, I stayed active in the design community and kept up with design and the ASID. It is truly an honor to now use my design and finance backgrounds, now having been chosen by the American Society of Interior Designers to be their new Director of Finance.”
The New York-based Tlina Design is Dixon’s primary design business. She offers her professional and comprehensive range of interior design services and staging. Her work has spanned projects in Brazil, Paris, Canada and Turkey. Her philosophy is evolving from big to smaller projects as she discovers new opportunities in the current moment. During this time of COVID-19, many clients have been inside for extended periods, and have contacted Tlina Design to redesign or freshen up kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor spaces. Her experience in staging has been valuable for her clients wishing to relocate and sell their homes. Tlina Design also designs commercial spaces such as office and showrooms and is excited about being a partner in helping all businesses increase their cash flow through design.
