Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has been selected to receive multiple awards at the 2013 Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards; Small-cell Innovation of the Year, Cloud Innovation of the Year and Infrastructure Management Project of the Year.Huawei was awarded Small-cell Innovation of the Year with its creative and leading edge portfolio of products named AtomCell. The AtomCell portfolio provides customers with a complete end to end small cell solution including; Micro, Pico, Lamp Site, and Carrier Grade Wi-Fi. This product range supports a variety of different wireless network scenarios with small cells acting as a supplement to existing macro networks. Features such as, flexible UE camping, handover and load balancing policies, including interference control policy, make this possible.
Huawei also received the Cloud Innovation of the Year award for its Cloud FusionSphere suite of products. Four years ago Huawei announced that they would enter the Cloud Computing marketplace. Since this time there have been significant developments. Huawei now has a cloud purpose built range of servers, storage, security and network solutions as well as a cloud operating system. Over the past 12 – 24 months Huawei has enhanced the operating system, FusionSphere, to support a variety of industry hardware platforms as well as different hypervisors including Xen, VMware, Hyper-V and KVM. This enables Huawei’s customers to protect their existing IT investment.
FusionSphere’s high degree of service automation means customers no longer need to recruit servers, storage, network and security specialist to perform low level IT infrastructure configuration. All these complicated tasks can now be automated and managed by the Service Provider. The net effect is a simplified, cost effective cloud solution that helps Service Providers speed up time-to-market while automating cloud provisioning.
Lastly, Huawei working jointly with PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL) of Indonesia is very proud to receive the Infrastructure Management Project of the Year award. This award is based on the “Managed Services for Total Value Ownership (TVO)” project, which fulfilled XL’s vision to be Indonesia’s cellular champion by “delivering high quality mobile services to its customers”. Now over fifty million XL subscribers are reaping the rewards from this new environment. XL is also enjoying many benefits; a substantial improvement in operational efficiency, new revenue from service growth, and an improved customer experience which will reduce churn creating loyal and happy customers.
