One of the longest lasting and best HVAC companies in the Richmond area, Howell’s Heating and Air continued their rich tradition of supporting charities. This time, the company decided to support the 5K run and fun walk organized by the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. The 14th annual 5k run took place on Saturday 4th May and had a goal of raising $155,000 and it raised $158,000 making the event not only fun, but also successful.The ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation was founded in 1975 in Richmond by a group of parents of children battling cancer. The foundation grew from those humble beginnings to become the biggest provider of support to children with cancer in Richmond and the whole of central Virginia. The foundation often has fundraisers and other activities where money is raised to help children and their parents in the fight against cancer.
“We have been around for a very long time, and we have been very successful. It is the strong belief of the company that when you have a lot, it is your human and moral obligation to help others. We are involved with many different charities, but ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation is very special to us. We support them whenever they have an event or a fundraiser, said Steve Thomas from Howell’s Heating and Air. He added: ”The 5K run was not only for a great cause, it was also really fun and good exercise. The fact that we all managed to raise almost $160,000 just shows that Richmond has a big heart and that we are a strong community who take care of their own.
