This is the first book Dorothy McCurtis has authored, and the second book for Letitia Barnett co-author. The book was written with the aim in mind where this smart Mama taught her children everything, but she did not teach them one important thing that brings humor to the book. Parents and children will laugh and be inspired at the same time. The aim of the book is to inspire children to read, write, learn, and mostly have a laugh.. There’s also particular excitement about this launch because the release of this book is based on the Author’s idea of the funny punch line that is located at the end of the book in which she discovered while at her regular Senior Citizen’s fun filled weekly group meeting. Once revealed, the author’s senior citizen friends were laughing. Excitement surrounds this book launch because it is a good idea to share with parents and children for laughter and inspiration. .

When asked about why they wrote the book, both McCurtis and Barnett said: “Having a good laugh about being a parent along with inspiration” is what compelled them to write the book.
McCurtis and Barnett has hopes that the book will motivate children to read, write, and learn, and inspire parents to continue on the path of working with their children while having fun at the same time.. This positive outlook from the authors is certainly testament to their optimism considering some of the mishaps during its creation. At one point there were some mishaps in writing the book, for example figuring out how to transform the book into a children’s book while at the same time making it funny and inspiring. The original idea was a funny joke that Dorothy McCurtis came up with and shared with a group of senior citizens during a weekly activity gathering. It was somewhat of a challenge to develop a children’s book from what was shared with her senior friends. With the help of the co-author and illustrator, the book was able to come to life..
In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking her Husband James McCurtis Sr., and all of her Children, Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, Son-In-Laws, Daughter-In Law co-author Letitia Barnett and Illustrator James McCurtis Jr., for their part in the creation of the book, saying: “Thank You family for your love and support and helping me to take humor and inspiration to another level through a children’s book.”
