Once again, Costa Rica has been featured on House Hunters International. The latest episode featuring real estate in Costa Rica takes place in Tamarindo, one of Costa Rica’s most popular vacation destination and real estate haven for expats

The episode, “Beautiful Backdrop in Tamarindo, Costa Rica”, follows Katie, a photographer looking to start her own business, as she searches for a house that fits her budget as she relocates to Costa Rica to live out her dream. The episode premiered on October 16th, 2013 at 10:30pm (e/p). The episode will air again on November 23rd at 10:30pm and 1:30am (e/p).

House Hunters International is a spinoff program of the HGTV original program, House Hunters. On House Hunters International guest home shoppers travel to their dream locations to search for real estate with the help of an experienced realtor in the area. Each episode features three real estate options, all within the parameters of what the buyer is looking for. The buyer specifies their budget, the size of the house or condo they would like, and any additional needs they may have, whether they are moving with a pet and need yard space, family friendly locations, beachfront properties, or city living.

Costa Rica has been featured on House Hunters International over 20 times since the program first aired in March of 2006. Tamarindo real estate has been featured multiple times on the popular show, helping to promote the affordable and stylish housing options available in the area. In July of 2013, Playa Conchal, Pirates Beach, and Playa Grande received attention as Sarah, a single female American and her new puppy, searched for a house with the help of her friend Steve. Sarah had a budget of $300,000 to spend on her dream home. In the most recent episode, Katie searches for a house on a more modest budget, while she works to get her new photography company up and running.

Katie visited Tamarindo as a wedding photographer and fell in love with the area. After returning to her job at a florist in Aspen, Colorado, she decided to take a leap of faith and move to Costa Rica to begin her own wedding photography company. On House Hunters International, Katie views property that suits her budget and her desire to be close to town, while also compromising with her boyfriend, a surfer whom she met while in Tamarindo, who wants to be close to the beach. Tune into the re-airing of the episode on November 23rd to see which houses Katie views and which one she decides on.

In addition to Tamarindo, House Hunters International has also featured real estate in San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital, Samsara, another beach town south of Tamarindo, and the popular locations of Jaco and Marbella. Costa Rica has become such a popular location for the HGTV program that talks are underway to create a new reality TV series featuring expats living the dream in Costa Rica. While filming has yet to begin, this new program may be underway as soon as November of 2013. Stay tuned for more episodes and shows highlighting the wonderful real estate opportunities in beautiful Costa Rica.
