Hit And Run Rates On The Rise In New Mexico According To The Szantho Law Firm

Hit and run accidents have been on the rise nationally for the past decade, with the rate estimated at between 11% and 12.5%. Rates of hit and run collisions in New Mexico appear to not only be on the rise, but are also above the national averages according to the Szantho Law Firm. In 2002 12.3% of the collisions in the state were reported as hit and run, however that number had climbed to 14.7% as of 2011, the most recent year for which data is available.
