— Creative agency History Factory has launched a podcast titled History Factory Plugged In. The biweekly podcast takes a refreshing look at the rich and sometimes provocative heritage of companies and brands. Host Jason Dressel, managing director at History Factory, and his guests explore current events and other topics related to business history and popular culture. The past comes alive in this engaging, thought-provoking show.
“There’s a lot of content out there in the podcast universe about business and about history, but none that bring together the two in the way we aim to do it,” Dressel said. “The goal is to fill a space with content that is lighthearted, fun and informative, for folks who have a wide array of interests. Our aim is for each show to offer a lot of moments where listeners’ takeaway is, ‘I didn’t know that’ and have a different perspective on a particular topic.”
The first four episodes, which are currently available, have featured business leaders, academics and authors discussing topics such as the NFL and college football, superhero comics and films, and labor relations in America. A recurring segment features commentary by History Factory Founder and CEO Bruce Weindruch, who shares historical perspective and context on current business news. The segment is a reprise of Weindruch’s recurring appearances on CNN and other media outlets as “The History Man.”
