Harbour Holidays Reports Growth in Bookings for Padstow Holidays in 2019

Harbour Holidays has this week announced its half year results which show a strong growth in holiday accommodation bookings in Padstow, Cornwall for 2019.

Cornish holiday company Harbour Holidays has reported a 15% increase in bookings for the first half of 2019.

The Padstow accommodation specialist says sales have exceeded expectations with bookings well above average for the first five months of the year.

Despite a slow start to the year, the company has enjoyed solid growth, especially in April and May when bookings were up by as much as 46% on the same time last year.

Nicky Stanley, managing director of Harbour Holidays, commented: “We’ve been blown away with the growth in bookings this year. We’ve been in business for several decades and this has to be our most successful start yet.”

The company suspects the recent surge in bookings was a result of people holding off for Brexit that never happened and those inspired by the good spring weather. The agents also believe that more people are leaving their bookings until later in the season in the hope of getting a last-minute deal.

Harbour Holidays is a local, family-run business which rents holiday homes to guests in Padstow and the surrounding beaches and villages.

Nicky Stanley added: “Of course we’re also benefiting from Padstow’s high profile nationally. It’s one of the best known destinations in Cornwall and seems to continuously grow in popularity.

“Padstow is famous for its quality food and drink, thanks to household names such as Rick Stein. But local chef Paul Ainsworth has also made several appearances on TV shows over the winter so Padstow is top of mind when considering places to visit in Cornwall.”

The company now represents 174 private holiday cottages, houses and apartments, which it promotes on behalf of property owners in the area.

“We’re delighted with this year’s sales growth and the solid bookings we’re delivering for our holiday home owners,” the company’s boss said. “It’s already looking like a bumper year for us. Let’s hope it continues so we can welcome even more visitors to this special corner of Cornwall.”
