His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche offers his strong prayers for the Tibetan fraternity after the great healing words of His Holiness Dalai Lama regarding the 11th Panchen Lama who is recognised by China.

It has been a memorable month for de-escalation in Asia, says His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, a reincarnated high lama of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and spiritual advisor of the Malaysian Kechara Buddhist Association. Indian Prime Minister Modi has visited Chinese President Xi Jinping informally and reset Sino-Indian ties. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has met South Korean President Moon Jae In, celebrated their common ancestry and culture, and both have issued statement committing to the "complete denuclearization" of the Korean peninsula. Kim Jong Un is also set to meet President Donald Trump soon.

Similarly, on the day of the recent 29th birthday of the unseen 11th Panchen Lama candidate recognized by His Holiness Dalai Lama, the Dalai Lama saw it opportune to announce to the world that according to reliable sources, his candidate Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, is alive and well.

His Holiness also leaned in to say, stunningly, that the “official Panchen Lama” (the 11th Panchen Lama who is recognised by China, Gyaincain Norbu) is receiving a good education from a qualified teacher, implying that the Chinese-backed 11th Panchen Lama whom the Dalai Lama had denounced previously, is rising to become a positive force and a good teacher, who will uphold the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. In Tibetan nuance, this is an endorsement of the 11th Panchen Lama.

Flanked by the head of the Central Tibetan Administration (“CTA”) Dr Lobsang Sangay and the Speaker of the CTA Parliament Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, the Dalai Lama went on to provide evidence of the possibility of two genuine Panchen Lama candidates using the recognized incarnation lineage of renowned Lama Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo as an example. His Holiness clearly alluded to the fact that the Chinese-backed Panchen Lama is likely real.

Beginning April 2018, in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has kicked off a series of special prayers of thanksgiving in light of the recent positives developments around the world.

According to His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, in this month of great reconciliation, His Holiness’ kind clarification of the status of the Panchen Lamas - one recognized by high lamas of the tradition and independently by the Chinese government; the other by His Holiness Dalai Lama, is to be much grateful for and to be rejoiced.

For more than two decades, the CTA in Dharamsala has maintained that the Chinese-recognized Panchen Lama is illegitimate. As a result, for a long time, there could be no rational discussion about the issue. But now, with the clarification by His Holiness of the possibility of having multiple Panchen Lamas, reconciliation may begin.

His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche also offers his strong prayers for the healing of the Tibetan fraternity and for closer ties between all nations. His Eminence hopes for all forms of discrimination, attack on faiths, religion, and spirituality to stop, and in place, to have more understanding and space for people of all faiths to practise their personal faith of choice. In that vein, His Eminence appealed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to heal the divisions around the religious tradition of Dorje Shugden, practised also by the Chinese backed 11th Panchen Lama. Now is the time for brothers and sisters to come together again, said His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has made this kind and great effort to befriend China and Tibetans around the world must support His Holiness’s wishes. His Eminence the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche strongly prays for His Holiness’ long life, for the long life of both Panchen Lamas and for peace and prosperity for Tibet and China, and for the world.
