Since the founding of Granger Plastics Company, September 1994, the ownership consisted of more than one shareholder. Back in October 2017 this all changed when Jim Cravens, who was a 50% shareholder and the President of the company purchased the balance of the stock, all assets, inventory and building.Cravens joined Granger Plastics in September 1998 as Vice-President of Sales and Engineering and grew their sales by a factor of nearly 10 times in just three years. In 2003 Cravens purchased the stock held by John Grimes, the founder of Granger Plastics.
Cravens said in a brief interview that this move placed Granger Plastics in the best financial position it has been in since being founded and he will take the company to a new level of sales through our creative ability and by empowering our employees to be their best. “We will continue to strive for perfection as we continue to serve our customers with solutions beyond their expectations by continually implementing Total Quality Management procedures. A great example of our abilities will be demonstrated in the two new product lines being introduced in early 2018.”
While the transaction took place in October, Granger Plastics is just making the announcement public at the beginning of January 2018. Terms of the deal were not being publicly disclosed.
Granger has seen significant growth in its custom rotational molding business producing a number of custom solutions for various OEMs and manufacturers both domestic and internationally. Granger’s in house metals shop provides molds and tooling for the rotational molding process along with metal components and fabrications for Granger’s growing client base. The growth in the custom rotomolding sector complements various lines of proprietary products such as ULD Containers, Tornado Shelters, Intermediate Bulk Containers, Material Handling Carts, Tanks and more.
