There are many methods used by the center for hair restoration, including a daily dose of the drug Propecia. Male pattern baldness has been determined to be the result of a drop in levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This is why Propecia has been used in the past on men who experience male pattern balding. Propecia was designed to inhibit the body’s production of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. A single daily pill can go a great distance to stop hair shed and regrow hair to a region. Another method that has been used by Dr. Golla in the past with success is low-level lasers to increase blood flow and oxygen to the region. Most recently, the center has adopted the breakthrough technology of Neograft folliculary grafts. This technology utilizes minimally invasive hair transplantation technology that harvests, collects and implants individual follicles. This revolutionary technology for both men and women requires no scalpel or sutures which makes it minimally invasive and able to harvest large areas in a single visit. Because each follicle is implanted at a time there is no scarring and it has a more natural look than other grafting procedures used in the past.
