The latest announcement aims to raise awareness about charity: water’s goals and ambitions, promote the new fundraising campaign, and make donations more rewarding. The competition can be entered online at the I Support The Cause website and entrants are encouraged to share the campaign on social media.
Founded in 2006, charity: water focus on ending the global water crisis, having funded 64,999 water projects in 29 countries, delivering clean, safe, drinking water to almost 13 million people.
According to the WHO, 785 million people worldwide live without access to basic clean drinking water. charity: water aims to combat and end the global water crisis permanently within a lifetime. According to charity: water, providing access to clean water and basic sanitation could save up to 16,000 lives per week.
Gift aid and other philanthropists fund charity: water’s operating costs meaning that 100% of all money donated funds fieldwork. The charity tracks every penny raised and presents information such as pictures and GPS coordinates to donors to prove how their money has helped. Furthermore, charity: water has consistently been awarded the highest possible grades for transparency and accountability.
The competition aims to raise awareness of the global water crisis and encourages more people to get involved in the fundraising campaign. Prizes include complimentary hotel stays in various well-known 4- and 5-star hotels such as Hilton Hotels and Resorts. Donors are rewarded various prizes depending on the amount of their donation.
Those that make a one-time donation of up to $100 can benefit from a $200 hotel savings card, whilst those that donate on a monthly basis of $10 or more receive a holiday. The higher the donation the higher the value of the prize, for example, a monthly donation of $81 or more wins the donor a holiday and a $500 hotel savings card. The rewards are part of the fundraising campaign to spread awareness and raise funds for charity: water.
