The Medlin Law Firm announces yet another noteworthy DWI win. The firm focuses on criminal defense and DWI. Their client was stopped for speeding and failing to maintain his lane. He failed the field sobriety tests that were administered. His lawyer, Fort Worth DWI lawyer Matt Peacock, defied the odds and convinced the jury to decide Not Guilty.
At trial, the arresting officer testified that at about 2:00 am Mr. Peacock’s client was spotted speeding and swerving near a restaurant and bar area. Field sobriety tests were conducted which his client failed. Video footage of the tests was played for the jury, the client then admitted that he had consumed 2 tall beers at a bar.
He refused to provide a blood specimen and a warrant was issued to obtain it. The blood test showed a BAC of 0.153, almost twice the legal limit of 0.08 in Texas. His failed sobriety tests along with the fact that he refused to submit to a blood test greatly stacked the odds against him.
The jury had their deliberation and after only 10 minutes, came back with a verdict: Not Guilty.
“It was an important verdict for our client because he is in the process of obtaining United States citizenship, and could not have a conviction because of his job,” says Meagan Urbaneck, Chief Operations Officer at The Medlin Law Firm. “Our Dallas County client never received a driver’s license suspension, never had an interlock, and was found NOT GUILTY at trial.”
