— Former National Level Swimmer, Olivier Poirier-Leroy, owner of YourSwimLog.com, announces the launch of “Conquer the Pool: The Swimmer’s Ultimate Guide to a High-Performance Mindset”, his latest book. The all-new mental training book is designed for competitive swimmers and was launched online via Poirier-Leroy’s website and blog, YourSwimLog.com.
At YourSwimLog, competitive swimmers will find everything they need to aid their swimming success. The site offers tips and tricks for smashing personal best, by maximizing both effort and performance in the ultimate pursuit of competitive swimming goals. Competitive swimmers toil for hours on end in the water to improve their technique and conditioning, and yet, one of the main reasons swimmers struggle on race day is because of mental hang-ups.
In the development of his latest book, “Conquer the Pool: The Swimmer’s Ultimate Guide to a High-Performance Mindset”, Poirier-Leroy collaborated with more than 200 head coaches, as well as Olympians, NCAA champions, and former world record holders to build a book designed to help swimmers target any mental issues, find solutions, and apply the fixes needed. Using countless studies, stories, and anecdotes of Olympic champions past and present, and utilizing worksheets in key sections, Poirier-Leroy aims to help swimmers unlock the barriers between them and success in the water—their own brain.
In addition to the collaboration, Poirier-Leroy’s own personal history as a competitive swimmer heavily influenced the book, which is the second he has authored. This book has garnered widespread excitement due to its collaborative effort. The book is already in use by some of the world’s top swim teams, including Auburn University Swimming & Diving, Notre Dame Swimming & Diving, London Aquatic Club, UBC Thunderbirds Swimming, and more.
“I wrote the book with the 12-year old age group version of myself in mind. There were times where I choked or gave up in critical situations in practice and competition and always experienced a deep sense of frustration and helplessness. The feedback from the coaches and swimmers was instrumental in the shaping of the book. The end result is a book that is conversational, easy to read, and will help swimmers unlock some lightning-fast performances.” – Olivier Poirier-Leroy, owner of YourSwimLog.com
