September is the wettest month of the year in Florida, which means motorcyclists should use extra caution while traveling through the state. Florida has distinct wet and dry seasons, with a surprising difference in rainfall levels. During the months between November and April, when cold fronts from the north push the warm and humid air south, the average rainfall is about 15 inches. From May to October is considered the rainy season, during which 43 inches of rainfall is the average. Furthermore, hurricane season lasts from June to November, contributing to the high levels of rainfall.
