Fitness Expo Pulls Out All the Stops to Outfit New Rec Center at Nicholls State University

When Michael Matherne claimed a year ago that the new 63,000 square foot recreation center at Nicholls State University would have “the latest and greatest” fitness equipment, he wasn't kidding. To make that happen, Matherne, the campus-recreation director, turned to Fitness Expo, a company known as a leader in the country for carrying the best brands and largest selection of exercise equipment available. When Fitness Expo stepped in to outfit the new rec center, they were able to provide the university with the top-of-the-line technology in cardio, core and strength-training equipment that would make Matherne's predictions for the center come true.

Planning the spaces, choosing the equipment and providing the installation was no small feat for a center that would span 63,000 square feet and include a 16 million dollar budget. To make sure everything was implemented correctly, the President of Fitness Expo, Rodney Rice became personally involved in the project. Managing a team of design specialists and certified technicians, Rice provided all the resources necessary to make the Nicholls State University Rec Center equal to the best-equipped universities in the nation.

As the authorized dealer for the top names in fitness equipment, including Precor, Spri, Power Block, Life Fitness, Vision Fitness and more, Rice was able to bring in the highest quality equipment and accessories. Now the rec center's 42-piece cardio room is fitted with the latest in elliptical machines, adaptive motion trainers, treadmills, bikes and rowers. The 6,000 square foot weight room carries the most elite weight lifting and training equipment on the market.

The 30-year old company is expert in the planning and installation of fitness and wellness centers for individuals, corporate and commercial clients. In addition to the installation at Nicholls State University, Fitness Expo has equipped apartment complexes, fire stations, hospitals, gyms, wellness facilities and corporate workout rooms. Fitness Expo also offers design services to help clients create the most effective layouts for their facilities.
