Local Fire Departments Host Fire Safety Seminars for Residents

Fire departments across the United States are going full steam with information campaigns to raise awareness about winter fire safety ahead of winter. Jerry Dougherty, Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief, said in an interview that homeowners should take fire safety seriously: "One thing that we're trying to get across to everybody is the smoke alarms have a 10-year life. We have a lot of calls for faulty smoke alarms that are going off in the house, and then we look up and see it, and it's not nice and white. It's a golden color. We immediately know that it's out of date. We bring it down, and we show the resident, and we say, 'This is manufactured in 2002, and it only has a 10-year life, so we recommend you change it out'."

Apart from conducting seminars in schools and across communities, volunteer firefighters are sharing fire safety and preparedness tips. This includes fireproofing homes and packing a functional first aid kit into their go-bag.

When it comes to first aid kits, Surviveware has the perfect kit for any emergency. Surviveware, which is known for its survival and preparedness gear, offers a perfect addition to any preparedness and survival bag: Surviveware's Large First Aid Kit.

The Large First Aid Kit, which is currently available on Amazon Prime, contains 200 pieces of life-saving provisions that can be used for treating cuts, punctures, bug bites, hypothermia, splinters, abrasions, lacerations, minor concussions, and more. Apart from the vast array of bandages and wraps, the kit offers splinter probes, nitrile gloves, cold packs, hydrogels, tweezers, emergency blankets, cleansing wipes, shears, fever strips, emergency blankets, and a whistle. Also included are a CPR kit, removable mini first aid kit, and comprehensive first aid guide.

The provisions are held inside a 600D polyester bag. The case is water-resistant and portable for easy evacuation and movement. To up the kit's portability, Surviveware designed a MOLLE-compatible strap system that allows kit owners to attach the kit to go-bags and emergency bags securely. This expanded first aid kit can also be attached to a car's headrest or trunk floor, which gives it more accessibility no matter the situation.

Alex, an Amazon customer and homeowner, shared why he purchased Surviveware's Large First Aid Kit for his home and outdoor adventure needs:

"I wanted a first-aid kit that would serve well at home and when on hiking trips. This kit fits the bill very well: it's small, rugged, and well-organized. The free compact kit and tourniquet (the latter mailed to me on request) are nice bonuses.

The kit is laid out in sections, with room for additional items, e.g., prescription drugs. All the items look and feel high quality, e.g., metal tools and not plastic."
