The agency’s artists complete commissions connecting iconic brands with an iconic show
Famous Frames, which represents artists for storyboards, comp art, illustration and animatics, shared today that several of its clients have completed commissions for advertising artwork based on themes from the iconic television show, Game of Thrones (GOT). Advertisers tapping into Famous Frames’ talent pool for GOT-inspired art include Johnny Walker as well as games and apps based on the show.—
“Of course, major brands want to build potential links to the show, and who can blame them?” asked a spokesperson for Famous Frames. “After all, the Season 7 finale had an audience in excess of 16 million viewers—more than the populations of LA, New York and Chicago combined.”
Game of Thrones is a true cultural phenomenon, with social media activity outpacing other television programs by a factor of 10. This has attracted the interested of global brands. For example, Johnnie Walker engaged with Famous Frames client Jarid Boyce for shooting boards for a commercial for their White Walker Blend. Boyce’s artwork is shown in a recent blog post. The finished commercial can be seen here.
Jasper Yu, also represented by Famous Frames, created Key Art for Johnnie Walker based on GOT themes. Artists Jeremiah Wallis, Polina Hristova and Denice Au created artwork for GOT videos and apps. The post includes fan art by Famous Frames artists as well. Robert Kalafut painted The Night King and Khal Drogo.
