Canada – December 8, 2014.  As part of National CSR Week in Canada, June 1-5, 2015, EthicScan announced that it will be hosting a set of two conferences, four courses and sixteen workshops. The programs include Upmanship: The New Science of CSR in Toronto June 1-2, 2015 and in Calgary June 4- 5, 2015. At these two conferences, professional corporate responsibility practitioners, officers and consultants will meet in order to enhance ethical decision-making and sustainability in corporations, businesses and organizations.

Corporations are under great stress to “up” their reputation and demonstrate that they are leading in corporate responsibility. They face external demands such as “giving back”, transparency, probity, and accountability. What strategies exist to meet calls for responsibility coming from staff, investors, clients, host communities, supply chain partners, and regulators? What techniques will best empower staff to take pride in their jobs, contribute to social goals, and enhance the company’s reputation? What tools will allow management to warrantee reduced risk, enhance profitability, and demonstrate leadership?

This event explores dozens of vital answers to these questions.  Participants in this conference will debate, share insight into, and discuss this relevant knowledge about three major challenges:

–Measuring What Matters

–Enhancing Multi-Stakeholder Engagement

–Upmanship By Design

EthicScan has offered this program 6 times over the last twenty years.  Professor Ken Wyman at Humber College says “EthicScan presentations always amaze…the range of ethical criteria EthicScan examines is eye-opening,the detailed research is jaw-dropping, the problems in corporate ethics revealed are hair-raising, and the quality of the training sessions is mind-expanding”

To enhance networking and relevancy of this conference, participants of this conference will pre-register for and participate within one of four “practitioner tracks”:  Community, Sustainability, Reporting, Ethics & Integrity.

David Nitkin, President of EthicScan talks about this unique conference, “This conference is designed by and for experienced practitioners. Most of the “faculty” are selected by invitation, and haven’t paid to participate or play.  The formats are interactive too – there will be workshops, panels as well as presentations so that everyone benefits from the experience of other practitioners.”  He expects participants from Canada and abroad from the philanthropy, sustainability, community investment, responsibility reporting, compliance officers, and  community engagement professionals.
