Solar energy is therefore now cheaper to use than traditional fossil fuels.
A new report released by the World Economic Forum in January 2017 states that solar and wind power is now either the same price or cheaper than new fossil fuel capacity in more than 30 countries. The report has also suggested that this is a “tipping point” where fighting climate change has become a profitable business option for major energy companies.
