Elevated Levels of Lead Found in Tap Water of New Jersey Homes; 4Patriots LLC Recommends Purifying Tap Water

Levels of lead nearly twice as high as EPA standards have been found in the tap water of homes in Pequannock, N.J. 4Patriots LLC suggests that homeowners use the Patriot Pure Pitcher to dramatically reduce exposure to dangerous contaminants, including lead.

Elevated levels of lead have been discovered in a number of homes in Pequannock, N.J., according to the Bergen Record, resulting in city officials distributing a notice informing residents how to reduce their exposure.

Water in nine of the 60 homes tested registered higher than the EPA’s standard of 15 parts per billion. Levels were found to be as high as 28 parts per billion, nearly twice that standard.

“We know that lead can cause serious health problems, especially for children and pregnant women,” said Allen Baler, Partner at 4Patriots LLC. Baler’s company provides a variety of products that help people become more self-reliant and independent, including the Patriot Pure Pitcher .

“Several government agencies and health organizations have taken the stance that no amount of lead in drinking water is considered safe. So, when levels are nearly twice as high as the EPA’s standards, it’s time to sit up, take notice and do something about the problem.”

The Patriot Pure Pitcher filters out 99.99 percent of heavy metals including lead, copper, mercury, aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, chromium 6, asbestos and more. Also, radiological elements such as radon 222, plutonium, uranium and cesium.

It also filters out 99.99 percent of chemicals including pesticides, VOCs, DDT, PCBs and trihalomethanes, as well as fluoride, chlorine, silt, sand and sediment. The Patriot Pure Pitcher holds up to one gallon of water and features a filter that lasts for 150 gallons.

Recently, more than one-half of the states that were tested for lead contaminations in public schools received a failing grade, according to a report from the Environment America Research & Policy Center and the U.S. Public Interest Research Group Education Fund.

“This is a nationwide problem,” Baler said. “Lead in water can impair how children learn, grow and behave. In most cases, water leaves treatment plants lead-free, but lead gets in the water on its way to homes and businesses. We need to protect ourselves and our families from lead in our tap water.”

The Patriot Pure Pitcher and other self-sufficiency products can be seen in the latest 4Patriots catalog.
