Edward Bass has been appointed to decide on the Top 10 Best Dressed Women in the world for Splash Magazine, it was announced today. Bass is bi-coastal but has had residences in London, Paris, and Moscow, always in the company of the unusually talented in each city.Bass states, "Our list will be significantly different from the Vanity Fair list and candidates. Whereas most of the voters for that list rely on photographs, I have seen many of the world's top dressers in person, so I have a definitive advantage. Live meetings are always better so I can see the real person and who really wears it well".
Bass has worked with over 30 of Hollywood’s top actors and actresses, so his taste is well informed, albeit admittedly with a film industry slant. He remembers working on the movie BOBBY, with Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, Helen Hunt, Lindsay Lohan, and Heather Graham, “It was like an incredible fashion show each day when shooting was done for the day, and they would get ready to go out for the evening.” “This year I am considering stars who have recently re-invented themselves, such as Scarlett Johansson. Scarlett made a huge hit both onscreen and in her couture at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. And I must have at least one equally brilliant and beautiful woman such as Amal Almuddin, George Clooney’s future wife on my list,” explains Bass.
Splash Magazine has local editions in 21 ties including Amsterdam, Atlanta, Barcelona, Bangkok, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hawaii, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Diego, San Francisco, Tokyo, Toronto, and Washington D.C., with readership in Los Angeles alone at over 3 million per month. Their last list was garnered at The 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles at which Nicole Kidman, Padma Lakshmi, and Sofia Vergara were some of the top picks.
