East 48th Street Market Announce Dunwoody Police Recognition Week May 20th - 25th

Local police are getting a warm thank you next week – and a home cooked meal, courtesy of East 48th Street Market. Atlanta's traditional Italian neighborhood market, East 48th Street, has designated the week of May 20th-25th as Dunwoody Police Force Recognition Week.

During this week in May, they are cordially inviting all police personnel to visit the market between the hours of 10:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday and 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday for a meal. East 48th Street Market's owners, Charlie and Anita Augello, say, "We feel that our family business is safe and we want to show our gratitude."

“Chief Grogan and the whole department repeatedly go out of the way to help out local businesses,” Charlie Augello said. “This neighborhood continues to be a wonderful place to raise a family and this is our way of saying thank you.”

East 48th Street Market is one of Dunwoody's landmarks, serving freshly made food from family recipes daily as well as carrying an extensive selection of deli items, Italian imports and local foods. The Market also stocks more than 140 varieties of Italian wine, with eight available to try by the glass in the shop.

The Augellos say that all police personnel are welcome, not just patrol officers, and they hope that neighbors will also stop in to say hello and meet the police.

“Many of the officers have become personal friends in the community,” said Anita Augello. “We appreciate all your hard work. We want to feed you like family!”
