Durham Wine Bar and Restaurant, Convivio announced the launch of cooking classes in Durham covering Italian pasta, risotto and pastry cooking techniques with demonstrations and hands-on classes.

Convivio Wine Bar and Restaurant’s newly launched Durham cooking classes provide people with an opportunity to learn hands-on cooking skills from a qualified and experienced Italian Chef. Durham cooking classes at Convivio are suitable for groups, singles or couples.


Convivio can also host the newly launched cooking classes in Durham as corporate events. With the ability to seat 100+guests, it is possible to do a team-building cooking class, presentation, training or other celebration in a private restaurant setting by booking the whole of Convivio.


Convivio Wine Bar and Restaurant, the setting for the newly launched cooking classes in Durham is a warm and friendly place to not only enjoy fine Italian food but to learn new skills. Many elements are built by the two owners, Chef Paolo and Sommelier Giuseppe.


Convivio’s newly launched cooking classes in Durham are led by Chef Paolo Gavazza, an Alumni of Alma; the most prestigious culinary school in Italy. He has also worked for a Michelin Star restaurant in Rome before moving to Durham.


Sommelier Giuseppe Cagnoni provides wine pairings during each of the newly launched Durham cooking classes. Serving only Natural, Organic & Bio-Dynamic wines. Durham cooking classes at Convivio are held each week, starting with Fresh Pasta for the first week, then moving on to Filled Pasta, Risotto and Italian Pastries. Future cooking classes in Durham under development include Wine Tasting & Wine Pairings, and Butchery & Salumeria Classes.


As an example of how one of the newly launched Durham cooking classes runs, the first week’s fresh pasta class includes a demonstration by Chef Paolo on many of the different ways to make pasta. Then participants get hands-on creating their pasta dish from a recipe provided by the Chef.
