Dr. Maria Luong is bringing Solea laser treatments to The Villages. Created around the idea of a more serene dental experience, Dr. Luong’s Serenity Dentistry Spa will add the new treatment; which, eliminates pain and anesthesia from the cavity-filling process to its current services. Patients love the unique experience.Developed by Convergent Dental and released in 2013, the Solea laser uses an isotopic carbon dioxide dental laser to remove tooth decay and prep for filling. Because the laser can remove tooth decay without causing nerve pain, it eliminates the need for anesthesia for the patient and creates a more comfortable experience for those that can’t tolerate pain. The Solea laser is also faster and more efficient than a traditional drill. Mike Cataldo, CEO of Convergent, compares the Solea laser to cutting a tree with a chainsaw instead of a traditional ax, as the laser fires up to 10,000 pulses per second.
