Dr. Mac Powell, PGA Master professional, recently received his certification as a Mental Performance Consultant® from the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP). The Mental Health Performance Consultant (CMPC)® certification acknowledges that Dr. Powell has achieved the “highest standard of education and training in the psychological aspects of sports science.”The Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP) was founded in 1985 and is the leading organization for sport psychology consultants and professionals who work with athletes and coaches, as well as non-sports performers such as dancers and musicians in order to enhance their performance from a psychological
standpoint.

Powell is the author of two books, Inner Game: Breaking Golf’s Unbreakable Barriers and The Ball is the Enemy as well as hundreds of articles on golf, sports psychology and education in general.
Dr. Mac Powell recently launched his website, http://www.innergame.org/, which shares his extensive writing on coaching and sports psychology. He also provides consulting services for amateur and professional athletes and is a popular and in-demand speaker at conferences around the world.
About Dr. Charles “Mac” Powell
Dr. Mac Powell is a former professor of psychology and clinician. Dr. Powell holds bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and sociology; master’s degrees in business, sociology and clinical psychology; and a PhD in sociology from the University of Missouri.
In addition to his many other accomplishments, Dr. Powell is the former president of WestMed College, John F. Kennedy College and, most recently, Bastyr University.
