Dr Jeff Hadley, Commander in the US Navy Dental Corps and respected dentist in Las Vegas has been certified by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine as the first Qualified Dentist in Las Vegas.The ABDSM is an independent, nonprofit board that certifies licensed dentists who treat sleep-related breathing disorders. The ABDSM board has certified Dr. Jeff Hadley as a Qualified Dentist according to their certification examination and recommendations from board-certified sleep physicians.
To receive this certification, Dr. Hadley has spent over 50 hours in continuing education in dental sleep medicine, over 10 hours of operations at a sleep center alongside sleep medicine medical staff, received recommendations from board certified sleep physicians, passed a rigorous written examination, and demonstrated competency in all phases of oral appliance therapy by presenting actual patent cases to a board of dental sleep medicine peers for professional review. That’s an immense amount of effort for any medical professional and it shows that Dr. Hadley is committed to giving his patients the best possible treatment of their sleep-disordered breathing through the use of an oral appliance.
Sleep apnea affects over 15 million Americans. For many of those people, a CPAP machine is too difficult to sleep with. For them, an oral device created by a sleep medicine certified dentist may serve to keep airways open during sleep and help prevent sleep apnea.
