The end of September marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of Attorney, Douglas C. Crawford’s admission to the State Bar of Nevada. Over the course of his long and distinguished legal career, Mr. Crawford has represented thousands of Nevadans in civil, domestic and criminal defense matters pending before state and federal courts. When asked about his longstanding career in the Nevada legal community, Mr. Crawford stated:
“It has been my honor and pleasure to represent thousands of clients involved in divorce, child custody, criminal defense, and personal injury cases over the years. I have taken thousands of divorce and child custody cases to trial. I have resolved thousands of criminal cases, and I have settled many multimillion-dollar personal injury claims. This has been the most rewarding career that I could have ever dreamed of. To help people, who are going through some of the most traumatic circumstances of their lives, facilitate their way through the complex legal system is extremely gratifying and rewarding”.
Mr. Crawford graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in May 1984, and shortly thereafter, he relocated to Las Vegas Nevada to begin his legal career in the Silver State, as a law clerk at the prestigious insurance defense firm, Rawlings, Olson, and Cannon. During his clerkship with Rawlings, Olson, and Cannon., Mr. Crawford did discovery and complex motion practice in the infamous MGM fire litigation. When asked about his first legal job in Nevada, after momentarily reminiscing Mr. Crawford said:
I came over the hill and down into the glittering Las Vegas valley at about 10:00 p.m., on August 14, 1984. I was driving the smallest Honda Civic that was made, and slate-sided U-Haul trailer, the smallest one they make, holding all of my worldly possessions. The next morning, I rented a tiny apartment behind the Bingo Station (Palace Station). The monthly rent was $179.00! The next day I began applying for jobs, and within three days I was offered a law clerk position with the prestigious insurance defense firm Rawlings, Olson, and Cannon. The starting annual salary was $22,000.00, which was more money than I had ever seen in my life! It was absolutely awesome and its been a non-stop wild ride since that time. You may all rest assured that I will continue representing you to the best of my ability for the rest of my life!
