Dato Jimmy Wong, Asia Pacific Chief Forex Consultant for Jadesan Capital Investments, a leading global financial services company based in London, held a financial seminar on the 6th September 2019 in Hotel W Taipei.The seminar covered a range of financial topics, including the development and the future of Foreign Exchange in Asia.
The seminar coincides with Taiwan’s foreign exchange reserves hitting record highs at the end of July. The country's forex reserves were US$467.23 billion as of the end of July, up US$261 million, or 0.06 percent, from a month earlier, according to data compiled by the Taiwan central bank.
The increase in foreign-held assets mainly reflected the buying of shares on Taiwan's stock market by foreign institutional investors during the month, when the weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange gained 0.87 percent.
