Damascus Steel Chef Knife Aims to Help Millennials in the Kitchen

Millennials are reportedly eating out more, spending less time preparing meals, and showing less confidence in their kitchen skills. KUMA Knives has re-launched its Damascus steel chef knife with the hopes of inspiring this generation to cook more.

A report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has revealed that millennials consume food in a bar or restaurant approximately 30 percent more often than any other generation, and spend less time preparing their food at home. Keeping this in mind, Kuma Knives, a sub company of KUMA, is trying to change the way millennials view cooking at home, starting with its damascus steel chef knife.

Based on the USDA findings, KUMA, producer of affordable, razor sharp Japanese chef knives, is actively seeking ways to increase millennials’ interest in home cooking.

A spokesperson for the company said, “We know that millennials are less able to perform basic cooking skills, relying more on frozen and pre-packaged food. Given these facts, we have insight into what millennials and more inexperienced cooks need and want in the kitchen. We hope to curb the decline of home cooking in this specific generation by producing chef knives that are cost-effective, versatile, and easy to use so as to not overwhelm any younger or new cook.”

KUMA’s chef knife has been crafted to suit a range of cooking skills, which might be appealing to millennials in particular, who reportedly show less confidence in the kitchen. The knife has also been regarded as a solid choice for more seasoned home cooks, further emphasizing its versatility among various skill levels.

“Millennials in particular are eating out more, spending less time meal prepping at home, and ultimately choosing convenience over anything else. Traditional kitchen utensils can be difficult to use, clean, and less effective overall in terms of getting things prepped and cooked quickly. The younger generation doesn’t have the time to spend on preparing their meals along with cooking and cleaning up afterwards. Chef knives, in particular, can help anyone cook better and faster, but they can be very expensive. We have set out to change this, by creating an affordable, ultra-sharp and easy to use Japanese chef knife,” continued KUMA’s spokesperson.

KUMA has recently re-launched its popular Damascus steel chef knife on Amazon, which is constructed of 67 layers of premium Japanese steel and eight types of engineering processes to give the sharpest edge. All 8 chef knife inches are claimed to be razor sharp out of the box. Ergonomically designed and lightweight to hold, the knife is easy to use and extremely versatile, with the ability to slice and dice both meats and vegetables.

Those interested in learning more about how their kitchen tools can help them succeed in the kitchen can visit KUMA’s Amazon storefront or official website for more information.
