Riding From Russia to Wales is no ordinary feet but doing it in 12 days is a gruelling challenge. But when it's fund-raising for the kids of Hope House it becomes a worthwhile challenge!

The Epic From Russia with Hope challenge sees 18 cyclists take on Ten Countries in Twelve days. Riding more than 2740 miles the team are raising funds for the Hope House Children’s Hospice Charity to help them raise much needed funds to help young people and their families come to terms with the end of life experience that they are all facing.

The challenge for Adrian Lewis, Managing Director of Frames Conservatories Direct began in March this year when he got a call From Gary Morton the events organiser, one of the original team had requested to be replaced, Gary knowing Adrian is a keen cyclist invited him onto the challenge.

Announcing the news to his workforce Adrian stated “you know last year when you all helped raise funds for St Gemma’s hospice in memory of Tony? Well this year we will be doing it for the kids at Hope House” He went on to explain how the team will be cycling from Russia, through Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, England and into Wales in twelve gruelling days.

The team of 18 are split up into 3 teams, they start from the same point every morning, sometimes leaving at 5.45am. Team 1 sets off on their bikes while team 2 and 3 set off in the motor homes. Team 2 decamp at the point team 1 will finish and set off, team 3 decamp at the point team 2 will finish and ride to that nights stop over. teams 1 and 2 drive to the stop over, then they rinse and repeat the next day and the next etc etc until they finish in Wales at Hope House.

Adrian is very much a family man and the thought of young children having to prepare for an end of life event is difficult enough, but by raising funds for the hospice, knowing the great work they do will ease the pain for the family’s who find themselves in the horrible position of needing their services.
