Patrick Laheen will be joining CD+A as the Associate Director of Construction and Infrastructure, CurranDaly.com reports
— Curran Daly + Associates proudly announces Patrick Laheen is joining the firm as the new Associate Director of Construction and Infrastructure. Mr. Laheen will commence the new role in May 2019 and brings more than 25 years of experience as a Global Search professional to Curran Daly. Over the years, Mr. Laheen has worked in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, taking on search assignments across multiple industries. He has particular experience in the construction and engineering sector, with much of this expertise coming during the seven years he resided in the Middle East.
"I am really looking forward to growing the construction and infrastructure sector for CD+A. This is a new market for CD+A and is posed for very significant growth in the coming years according to all the leading industry experts. Substantial multibillion-dollar investments are already being made across South East Asia to improve the infrastructure to support continued economic growth in the region. CD+A has ambitious plans to be the market leader in sourcing Senior Engineering and Construction Professionals across the region to meet the demand in this sector," Laheen explains.
"We are very excited to welcome Patrick to Curran Daly as the new Associate Director for Construction and Infrastructure. Patrick's domain expertise will not only widen our scope of specialization, but it would also allow us to source new opportunities for professionals in this sector," Geoff Daly, Managing Director of Curran Daly + Associates, states.
Laheen has proven success in sourcing and recruiting project teams responsible for delivering multibillion-dollar construction projects throughout the Middle East and Europe. Following his graduation from University College Dublin with a B. Comm degree, he opted to continue his education at Edinburgh Business School, where he earned an MBA. Now he will be working with a market leader in executive search in Vietnam, the Philippines, and across Southeast Asia.
"The Construction Market is said to grow into a P130-trillion industry by 2030 due to the new roadmap infrastructures that the Philippines Government is working on. The more the construction sector grows, then there's more demand for the experienced professionals to enter the field and having Patrick join us will capitalize on this opportunity," Daly continues.
Laheen discusses the role of headhunters in the Philippines and why he feels this is a great opportunity for him. "CD+A has built up an outstanding reputation in delivering recruitment solutions to global clients in the Philippines market over a 10 year period. The CD+A team is highly motivated with considerable expertise in executive search in the Philippines, Vietnam and across Southeast Asia. It is very exciting for me to be part of a dynamic and professional team with a long track record of success."
Mr. Laheen previously established and managed a boutique executive search firm in Ireland, building a reputation as a leading headhunter in the country which he now brings to Curran Daly + Associates, a headhunter company in Vietnam and the Philippines.
As Laheen explains, the 'Build Build Build' programme initiated by the Philippine Government will create enormous employment opportunities in the construction sector over the next 5 to 10 years. Investments in new infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, railways, etc) will transform the Philippine economy and support its future economic growth. In addition, there is significant overseas foreign direct investment planned in infrastructure projects. The sourcing of highly experienced construction and engineering professionals will be a key challenge to meet the manpower demand in this sector in the coming years. There will be great opportunities for returning overseas Philippine construction workers to gain employment in this sector.
"I expect the market to grow very fast in the coming months and years. Local contractors and the International consulting firms will have an insatiable demand for highly qualified engineering professionals. The expected scale of infrastructure projects will provide opportunities for returning overseas engineering professionals who have the expertise to work on multibillion-dollar projects. The experience gained by many overseas engineering professionals in the Middle East, in particular, will be invaluable for companies recruiting in the Philippines," Laheen declares.
