‘Beyond Terror’ author tackles the essence of just, moral government
— Author Anne Marie Waters tackles democracy as the subject of her second book, “In Defense of Democracy,” following up on her Number 1 Amazon Mover and Shaker, “Beyond Terror: Islam’s Slow Erosion of Western Democracy,” the controversial first book that linked the author to a scandal at 10 Downing Street.
“Voting does not make a democracy. If people vote for tyranny, as has happened throughout history, it remains tyranny, despite it being popular,” Waters says. “I will examine each of the essential characteristics of democracy in turn and argue that it is morally superior to tyranny and totalitarianism.”
Founder of the For Britain political party, Anne Marie Waters is no stranger to controversy. Earlier this year, a member of the Labour Party, among others, demanded Boris Johnson dismiss his social media czar, Chloe Westley, after it was discovered that Ms. Westley had described Waters as a hero and tweeted out a link to “Beyond Terror.”
Waters will dive deep into the essence of democracy in this next book. She describes democracy as a “way of life” and expands on what it is: to include free speech, universal suffrage, an honest press, and an accountable government.
Anne Marie Waters originally aligned with the Labour Party and ran as a Labour candidate twice in local elections before joining the UK Independence Party. In 2017 she ran for leadership of the party and came in second before forming her own party, For Britain. Anne Marie is also the director of Sharia Watch UK. Anne Marie was born in Dublin and studied journalism at Nottingham Trent University after which she earned a law degree. Something or Other Publishing, LLC (SOOP) will publish Waters’ “In Defense of Democracy,” as they’ve published her first book.
