Small black businesses that have an annual revenue of $100,000 or less in the year of 2019 are welcome to apply for the capital funding required before July 15.

Juneteenth, or June 19th, is the oldest nationally-celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It represents the day when Union army general, Gordon Granger, read the federal orders in the city of Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865, proclaiming all slaves in Texas were now free. Today, Juneteenth is becoming widely regarded as a national holiday and many companies and organizations have made it a paid holiday for its employees. With the height of the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement and the social injustices experienced in Black America, Juneteenth has become a focal point in America.

The black community has been disproportionately impacted by systemic racism and oppression. According to the NAACP, Black Americans make up 34% of all inmates, while only 13% of Americans identify as Black, according to the U.S. Census. BLACK LIVES MATTER. Coach Stormy Wellington wants to facilitate the eradication of racism and empower Black communities. Coach Stormy stands in solidarity with the black community and firmly believes the systemic racism and oppression of black communities and black people need to be fully eradicated now. She is committed to making the difference.

If you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem. Coach Stormy believes economic elevation is one of the best ways to empower a community and eliminate oppression. Too often, Black businesses are undercapitalized and do not have access to the capital that is necessary for their businesses to grow and thrive. Another factor that will empower Black communities is to become owners of the community. When Black America needs to be educated, they need to own training centers and educational facilities. If Black America needs capital, they should own a bank. If Black America needs infrastructure, they should own a construction company. If Black America needs real estate, they should own the land. When Black America needs a car, they should buy from our own dealership. It is imperative to become self-sufficient as a people. Building, creating, maintaining and sustaining generational wealth is not an option, but imperative for Black communities.
