Clare Shepherd of YourNewLifePlan based in Sheffield, England, launches 2 new, proven natural menopause programmes, aimed at putting women back in control about the health of their Body and Mind.

Clare Shepherd of YourNewLifePlan is passionate about bringing menopause to the forefront of conversations, and tackling the associated problems. With this in mind, to coincide with World Menopause Day on Thursday 18th October she is launching not one but two programmes to assist women all over the world. She has been running trials in her home town of Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Here’s what Micheala Frizelle had to say about her journey embracing the Natural Menopause Road Map philosophy: “I’ve been surprised and encouraged by the changes I’ve seen in such a short space of time. My physical and mental health is so much better, and I’ve realised that taking an holistic view, mind, body and spirit, is a far better approach providing greater benefits and results for hormones and health during the menopause years”.

Over the past couple of years Clare has been contributing to one of the UK’s fastest-growing websites for women over 40 and is a main speaker at their Menopause in the Workplace seminars currently touring the country. She is also the author of ‘Hormone Harmony’ which can be found on Amazon. The main aim is to call on all organisations to take menopause seriously, provide the right support for their colleagues and in doing so, future proof their own businesses.

Clare also recently featured on BBC local radio along with other experts discussing all aspects of menopause.

So, it’s time to launch her very personal programmes and no better time than World Menopause Day. Mood swings, nights sweats, brain-fog, trouble sleeping, low self esteem, anxiety, low libido. Perhaps feeling as though you are losing your femininity, and your body no longer feels like home. There are many more symptoms but these are the ones that are most familiar to those going through the menopause.

Louise Rivers was ecstatic when asked about the programme, “I can’t believe how much things have improved! I really didn’t think I would feel so different in just 3 months. All my health/physical issues have either improved or gone and I’m so much more positive. I will never go back to how things were before.”

Clare is a qualified nutritional therapist who has been studying menopause for more than 30 years. She designed her programmes to inspire, educate and empower other women wishing to naturally manage their menopause symptoms and create optimum health through menopause and beyond.

Her menopause arrived ridiculously early – when she was just 32. It took seven years and seven doctors for a diagnosis, by which point she was begging for a solution. Eventually, because she had the added complication of severe endometriosis, she had to have a full hysterectomy at just 39.

This long drawn out ordeal certainly gave her great insights into how some doctors treat menopausal woman. You’re encouraged to try HRT or anti-depressants and not much else.

Not knowing what else she could do at the time, she tried the HRT patches. Although they did help, she was also aware that they could increase the risk of blood clots, stroke or breast cancer. No-one seemed certain. So, she had years and years of increased anxiety about what HRT could actually be doing to her long-term health.

She thought that every patch she slapped on could be the one that triggers a serious disease in her body. That risk was too great for her, given how long her menopause was going to be.

So, she set out to find a drug-free solution. The final results being the two programmes launching on Thursday 18th October.

Clare explains how she got here. “Firstly, I explored many different holistic therapies and lifestyle changes; there were many false leads, but a few absolute gems that I use to this day.

Then I trained for three years as a nutritional therapist to find out how to tackle symptoms by changing my diet. This was a whole new world to me as I hadn’t actually eaten a vegetable until I was 27!

With all this information I worked out a system involving a simple diet, lifestyle changes and some strategies and techniques that were so effective I finally felt confident enough to say goodbye to HRT.

I was finally back in control and able to live a vibrant life, free of prescription drugs!”

It would be a step in the right direction if all employers took menopause seriously. It’s interesting to note that the first successful employment tribunal for menopause in the UK was six years ago – the complainant had both her claims of direct sex discrimination and unfair dismissal upheld.
