Civility is Taking Center Stage on the Red Carpet
Winnipeg Civility Expert Lew Bayer has been nominated for American Civic Collaboration Award.
Because it’s about time that people working to overcome political differences got to walk a red carpet, The Bridge Alliance and Big Tent Nation developed this awards program – the “Oscars of Civic Collaboration.” to honour and inspire those who work together to overcome partisan rancor and ideological division. The American Civic Collaboration Awards, or the Civvys, are designed to celebrate individuals and organizations dedicated to moving the nation beyond polarization, divisiveness and finger pointing. The Civvys, are the first national awards program designed to highlight projects that leverage collaboration as a key strength in building initiatives that improve America. Judges will soon be reviewing nominations and selecting award winners, who will be celebrated in a ceremony at the National Conference on Citizenship in Washington, D.C. on October 20, 2017.
Lew says on her nomination; “I often say that civility is it’s own reward, and I mean it when I say it, but being nominated for a Civic Collaboration Award is an incredible honour. Choosing and practicing civility isn’t always easy and it is incredibly rewarding to be noticed for the work we do. This nomination is in part due to support of the Board at The Civility Center, the team at Civility Experts Inc., and the members of the International Civility Trainers’ Consortium (ICTC) who have supported this important work.”
Lew’s nomination is a great honour and will only help in her mission to spread and choose civility always.
