Kenechi, a youth program for at-risk youths, introduce the release of Kenechi 2.0, and are now accepting donations as a 501(c) nonprofit to aid their goal of bettering the lives of underserved teens. The organization’s work requires funding and donations to fulfill its mission, which will greatly help their purpose of building teens’ confidence, providing a space for them to be heard, and enabling access to opportunity.
Youths often find that their opinions are not always heard, but rather ignored. Kenechi believes in building the confidence of at-risk youths, so their opinions are just as valued as those of adults. The first goal to strengthen their confidence is by giving them the freedom to have a voice. Additionally, Kenechi offers skill tracks, encouraging youths to self-reflect, identify their passions, and contribute their voice to drive change.
Despite helping youths gain confidence, systemic inequities can hinder their development and access to opportunity. Kenechi seeks to empower youths and their families to actualize change in their lives. The organization provides teens and parents access to shaping programs and a platform that helps them create a more purposeful and fulfilling life, not just for themselves, but for their communities.
Kenechi believes that communities thrive when individuals are enabled to accomplish their goals, and that confident, inspired and advocated youths are the foundation. Kenechi strives to guide at-risk teens towards fulfilling their goals by investing in them and connecting them with community partners.
Through Kenechi and its collaboration with community partners, at-risk teens can now have their voices heard, and receive value for their input, while stimulating change that matters. Kenechi will also be investing in communities by hosting town halls, panel meetings featuring guest speakers, and are in the process of building a video production studio in Chicago, which has relied on private funds.
As a newly launched nonprofit, Kenechi looks forward to stimulating change and creating exciting opportunities for youths, parents, and their communities.
