The Sterling Hotel in Casper Wyoming is open in time for the Total Solar Eclipse event on August, 21st, 2017.

The Sterling Hotel in Casper, Wyoming has announced they will re-open for The National Solar Eclipse on August 21st.

The Hotel was struck by lightning last year knocking out everything that was plugged in, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to Air Conditioning Units and Computers. Luckily there wasn’t any fire damage.

Because of an error made by their insurance agent at Wyoming Financial Insurance, the Laird Family didn’t receive what they needed to stay open and ultimately lost $150,000 and were unable to stay open.

Fortunately, the building owner’s insurance covered the damage and The Sterling Hotel will open in time for #Eclipse2017 and there are still rooms available for this amazing event.

The Sterling Hotel, named after the couples daughter, will once again open and be run by Jason and Amber Laird

The total solar eclipse on Aug. 21 is especially rare because it’s the first time the path of totality crosses the continental United States from coast to coast and no where else in the world since June 8, 1918. It’s also the first continent-wide eclipse that will visible only from the United States since 1776.

The last time the U.S.A witnessed a total solar eclipse was Feb. 26, 1979, when the path of totality crossed the Pacific Northwest.
