Company to show line of multi-channel, high-frequency and high-performance interconnect products in Booth 956 at IMS 2018

St. Augustine, Florida – May 21, 2018– Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CarlisleIT) announced today they will be exhibiting in Booth 956 at the 2018 International Microwave Symposium (IMS 2018) — the preeminent annual gathering of the RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave industry — June 11-15, 2018 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.

The focus at IMS 2018 is millimeter microwave (mmWave), the spectrum that starts at about 30GHz. This higher wave spectrum is the base of what’s being called “5G,” the next generation of ultrafast wireless technologies that will begin to appear in mobile devices by 2020.

Millimeter waves have short wavelengths that range from 10 millimeters to 1 millimeter. These short wavelengths, labeled as extremely high frequency (EHF) or very high frequency (VHF) by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), can be used for high-speed wireless broadband communications.

CarlisleIT features a complete line of RF/Microwave board mount connectors, RF/Microwave cable assemblies and precision adapters for the mmWave spectrum. This line of products can be used for full system, sub-system or IC characterization and testing, or simply to transmit wireless signals at a very high data rate.

“The world has come in our direction,” said Emad Soubh, Product Management-SI. “We’ve been in the millimeter microwave space for quite some time. Not many suppliers offer a complete one-stop shop for millimeter microwave-speed interconnects.”

CarlisleIT’s line of multi-channel, high-frequency and high-performance interconnect products shown at IMS 2018 will include the Core “multi-way” product line, specifically CoreGD and the next generation of CoreHC, as well as precision connectors, microwave cable assemblies and adapters, VNA cable assemblies and high-performance test cables and accessories.

As the 5G infrastructure improves, new technologies, including the ability to upload large data files to cloud storage from mobile devices, are expected to roll into consumer devices in a couple of years. These infrastructure upgrades will require complete testing of the next-generation of components, a process that which will require a three-to five-times cleaner signal than is required for 4G, according to Soubh.

“The rest of the industry is walking their way up to where we’re really good, at 40-50-60 GHz,” explained John Lewis, Director of Product Management. “Our highly stable and well-shielded products suit this market nicely.”
