California Welcome Centers and the Ventura County Wine Trail Open Wine Tasting Room

New ‘first of its kind’ wine tasting room in Oxnard California is opened by California Welcome Centers and the Ventura County Wine Trail.

For years, California Welcome Centers – California’s Official State Visitor Centers – have offered valuable information and specialized services for today’s travelers. In a first time ever partnership between one of the 19 centers and California’s growing wine industry, the California Welcome Center of Oxnard has joined with the Ventura County Wine Trail to present visitors with a ‘sneak peak of Ventura County winemaking’ and the local wine industry by offering guests of the center the opportunity to taste local wines in an automated wine tasting area.

This cutting-edge wine counter will offer 13 wines from the area’s leading purveyors, as well as scheduled meet and greets with the wine makers themselves. These boutique wineries of Ventura County source grapes from nearly every major wine growing region in California – from Napa Valley to Santa Barbara; so visitors of this tasting room can actually taste through California wine country without a road trip. Each winery will put its best foot forward in placing their best wine to showcase the region (Ventura County).

The newly built California Welcome Center of Oxnard is located just off of U.S. Route 101 freeway, in the heart of The Collection at RiverPark – a new premiere shopping center. Surrounded by a unique mix of shops, restaurants and outdoor people spaces that boldly embrace the coastal California climate and lifestyle, visitors of the center can enjoy local wine tasting, great food and entertainment. The California Welcome Center of Oxnard will celebrate its grand opening December 4th.

David Whittemore of the Ventura County Wine Trail explained, “We are very excited to bring this new concept to visitors of Southern California. The wineries of Ventura County celebrate the differences unique to each of California’s wine growing regions, and produce award winning wines from their favorite varietals. For years, wine lovers from across the country have explored our urban wine trail and local wine culture. With this first ever partnership, locals and travelers visiting the center will gain a greater understanding of the Ventura County wine industry, enjoy wine tastings and purchase bottles of the wine varieties that they enjoy. This has never been done before, and we hope to begin a trend in California Welcome Centers everywhere.”
