This week, Phoenix-based Kitchen Enthusiasts, Inc. announced it is adding sixteen products to its kitchen and chef-focused website, ButcherBlockCo.com, in time for Mother’s Day and the summer grilling season. All additions, designed by Canadian professional chefs Chris Oxnard and Chris Lindholm, are distributed by Ontario-based Jetrich Canada LTD.
Chris and Chris food prep carts – “kitchen carts designed by professional chefs” – are distinguished by their exclusive “Chop and Drop” food handling system which the culinary duo devised. “It allows for the sanitary collection of juices, the easy collection of prepared foods, easy disposal of waste, and effortless clean up,” explained company spokesman John Oxnard. Oxnard went on to say, “The system features a juice groove on the cutting surface that collects juices and directs them to the ‘Pig Snout’ – a cutout in the work surface. A stainless-steel chef pan, fitted snuggly below the ‘Pig Snout,’ collects juices or trimmed product. A trash ring and bag replaces the chef pan when it’s desirable to dispose of waste directly into a trash bag.”
Kathleen Grodsky, Vice President of Marketing at Butcher Block Co., reports the company is adding seven Chris and Chris carts in total: the Stadium grill work station designed for indoor or outdoor use, with an Acacia wood work surface; and 2 versions (with slatted wood or wire shelves) of the Chef Series work station, which includes a rubberwood work surface (each available in three different base colors: Natural, Espresso or White.
“Butcher Block Co. will also offer nine different Chris and Chris cutting and chopping boards,” Grodsky continued. “All feature distinctive Acacia wood, plus one or more other convenience-enhancing innovations, such as a knife caddy built into the surface of the board, or a knife drawer hidden beneath it; a juice groove to prevent juice from meat or fruit from overflowing the board’s edges; hand grips carved into the board’s sides, or handles attached to handsome stainless steel bands that wrap around round boards.”
