Bruce M. Plaxen, senior partner and founder of Plaxen & Adler, P.A., has been elected to Chair the Maryland Association for Justice’s Political Action Committee for 2018/2019. Bruce Plaxen previously served as PAC Chair from 2001-2016.“This is important work that we do,” said Bruce Plaxen. “MAJ advances the work and the mission of more than 1200 trial lawyers in Maryland, all of whom have dedicated themselves to protecting and improving the civil justice system. Bruce M. Plaxen is an award-winning trial attorney. A former president of MAJ, he has sat on the organization’s Board of Governors since 1993, serving as its Legislative Chairman from 1996-2001. He is the only two-time winner of MAJ’s President’s Award (2007 and 2010), which recognizes “exemplary leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment” to the causes and mission of the Association.
Bruce Plaxen is also a current American Association for Justice (AAJ) State Governor, and member of AAJ’s Executive Committee. He is a three-time winner of the Wiedemann Wysocki Award (2003, 2010 and 2016) which “recognizes members who have made outstanding efforts to advance AAJ’s political outreach projects and priorities, and support AAJ’s Political Action Committee (PAC).”
Bruce Plaxen has been selected for SuperLawyers for 13 consecutive years (2007-2019), is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and was honored with the 2013 Leadership in Law award by the Daily Record. He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy from the State University of New York at Albany in 2008, for his pro bono work on behalf of the victims, and their families, of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
