The Entertainment Revue, a non-profit organization with all proceeds going towards grants for the contestants, has been showcasing the talents of internationally acclaimed female singers and dancers for over 25 years. When the program was recently facing its finale, full funding contributed by Bob Gries allowed the Florida-based musical theatre events to continue.

The Entertainment Revue is an establishment that develops the artistic talent in aspiring singers and dancers and offers professional training. A one of a kind arts program, unique in Florida and becoming known nationwide, they perform more than forty shows per year at theatre, community, and sporting events, giving members hands-on preparation for a career as a professional entertainer. This group has performed on television, for three separate Presidents, and has been recognized for the talent it produces. Members of the show have gone on to compete on American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, as well as America’s Got Talent. Many also go on to appear in Broadway productions and receive contracts from major recording labels. Previous participants continue to illustrious careers due to the proper training they received. The talented cast is expected to achieve a high athletic and academic standard and are awarded college scholarships for participating.

Starting out as an after-school program, the group grew when members wanted to continue lessons and performances outside of school. The Entertainment Revue ensemble was initially set up more than twenty-five years ago when the founder was asked to share her knowledge of theatre, music, and the arts. At the request of the parents of her students, they began staging shows, rehearsals, and professional lessons. When they played during the Hall of Fame Bowl in the old Tampa Stadium in 1993, Bob Gries was in attendance. He saw the routine and asked them to perform at Storm games. From then on, the Entertainment Revue had the support and enthusiasm of Mr. Gries who was ready to jump into action when recent events could have caused the end of the Revue. Knowing how much the program meant to the participants and the people of Florida, he had to ensure it would continue and now with his generous donation, the business operations aspect of maintaining the group will not get in the way of the amazing work these young artists are learning.
