The rezoning has recently been put up for approval, and pertains to the southeast intersection of Friendly Drive and Hillsborough Street, to create mixed commercial and residential developments.After a 30 day grace period to allow the Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) an opportunity to comment on the case, the Wade CAC voted overwhelmingly in favor of the request. After a presentation by chief planner Travis Crane, the consistency of the plan with future land use and urban form was unquestionable, and with the addition that 25% of the units would be something other than 4 bedrooms, the motion passed with the approval of all members in attendance (See Ordinance 313 ZC 699 for details).
