In an effort to respond to community needs amid the pandemic, Blue Skies Window Washing Cincinnati hosted a drive-through disinfectant giveaway. The tri-state company specializing in residential and commercial cleaning organized this community outreach event in collaboration with a local hotel.The company distributed a total of one-thousand 32oz. bottles filled with all-purpose Spic and Span disinfectant from Procter & Gamble, another Cincinnati-based company. People were also provided information on dwell time and instructions on how to use the disinfectant safely and effectively. While Blue Skies Window Washing Cincinnati is not actively planning to host another giveaway, they are open to the idea if and whenever the need for that arises.
In the words of Derek Christian, the company’s owner: “When all this started, things were hectic all around us. People were confused and some were downright panic-stricken. It certainly didn’t help that disinfectants were so hard to come by. In our position as a tri-state cleaning company, we felt we had the power to make a difficult period a little bit easier for those around and it soon dawned on me that this was the best way to do it. We are just so happy that we were able to make a meaningful contribution by helping others in our community gain access to much-needed supplies.” He goes on to explain why Spic and Span was the disinfectant he chose to use for the giveaway: “I worked at P&G Professional for 12 years so I know the product well. When my own father was battling leukemia and protecting him from infections was a matter of life and death, this is the product I bought and shipped to my mother to use to keep him healthy.”
