Master photographer, Jason Matias is launching his brand new limited edition artwork, “Tree Of Fire”. He tells us of his experiences behind the lens while inside the Japanese Kabota Garden.

Jason Matias is a veteran, an artist and a master photographer who lives in Bellevue, Washington. He creates artwork from inspirations found around the world. Jason Matias’ newest piece, “Tree of Fire” is releasing today. The artwork is set to go live today, and is available for viewing at jasonmatias.com/tree-of-fire. It is expected to make a significant impact on fine art and photography fans across the world.

From the artist:

“Tucked away in the back of a Kubota Japanese Garden, the “Tree of Fire” was difficult to find. I found it as the sun set below the trees. Ambient light seemed to fall on the leaves like dust from a Disney movie. I was inspired by how the tree seemed to know how much to grow to kiss the pond’s surface just so. I chose this composition to show the balance the Tree of Fire has achieved with its environment.”

Tree of Fire is a local’s best kept secret. It’s well hidden in a garden often overshadowed by it’s bigger and much publicized cousin, the Seattle Japanese Garden. It is precisely this type of undiscovered gem that attracted Matias to the garden. “I learned of this garden several years ago and it’s taken over a dozen visits across several seasons to find the perfect blend of elements and light,” said Matias. The final result is a testament to the patience and diligence of the photographer both behind the lens and in planning and post production.

All of Matias’ works are limited editions of 50 pieces with two artist proofs. That means that after the 50th piece Tree of Fire will be unavailable to collectors around the world.

The works have serious impact value, too. The artist attributes the incredible luminosity of his editions to the special substrate he produces the work on. “(the fine art paper) not only reflects light, the way 99% of other substrates do, but it also refracts the light. Light travels laterally through the paper making it seem to glow from within. Add to that the thin, archival acrylic surface face-mounted to the art and the result is a feeling of looking through a window at a hyperreality an arm’s reach away.”

Jason Matias, who is also a writer, has no shortage of descriptive words for the photographs and artworks hanging in his Bellevue, Washington gallery. When asked about his inspirations he attributes much of it to Mother Nature herself. “When the outside environment resembles what I wish the environment inside my head and my heart would look like, I know I have something to work with.”

Jason’s accolades included worldwide publishings, including National Geographic, international awards and collectors. He can be found on Instagram @realjasonmatias and Facebook. He relishes the opportunity to speak with collectors personally, over handshakes and drinks preferably, in his local area of Seattle, Bellevue, and surrounding towns but understands the logistics with collectors across nations can be prohibitive. He can be reached directly at 808.321.8643 and jason@jasonmatias.com

Tree of Fire is available starting at 30”x40” through 75”x100” The value of the edition rises as the editions sell out which is great for early collectors. You can find close-ups and more examples of the work at www.jasonmatias.com/tree-of-fire
