October 18, 2019 -Wrentham, MA – The Proctor Mansion Inn celebrates 10 years of ownership with the historic landmark located in downtown Wrentham. On Saturday, Nov. 2nd, the Proctor Mansion Inn invites the community to enjoy “Then and Now”, a night of music, food and dancing, to mark 10 years of the mansion’s renewed life in Wrentham as an integral part of the community. To be held at 36 Common Street from 7PM on, the night will feature light appetizers, cheeses, and desserts catered by Chef Paul Streichert, as well as a wine tasting. There will also be live music and dancing in the mansion’s L’Enfant Ballroom, a cash wine/beer bar, and an auction both silent and live. Tickets are $75 per person. Space is limited due to capacity.

Before owners Brian and Dawn Fitzgerald took over the 1861 Victorian mansion, it had fallen into disrepair. The eyesore property was vacant; the porch was dilapidated and unsafe, there were holes in the roof, damaged walls, the foyer and ceilings along with various other mechanical and superficial deterioration neglectful of its rich history. Since the Fitzgerald family took over the property in 2009, the Proctor Mansion Inn has been restored to its Victorian grandeur. Admired and appreciated by all who come; one international guest expressed their admiration this way: “Thank you for this wonderful Victorian experience! We will talk about this location throughout Florence and Italy!”

Located across from the Wrentham Town Common, the Proctor Mansion Inn brings business to Wrentham as the only Bed and Breakfast in town. It also provides lodging to the many visitors going to the Wrentham Premium Outlets, Patriot Place, and other locations. As an event venue, the Proctor Mansion has hosted many private events such as weddings, birthday parties etc. Public events are also popular such as the Victorian Teas and children’s events.

In addition, the Inn has gained broader appeal, serving as the movie set for the popular Lifetime/Netflix holiday romance movie, “The Spirit of Christmas”. Each year movie fans gather to view this timeless classic on location.

Brian and Dawn invite the community to help celebrate this 10 year milestone as a testament to how far they’ve come. In addition, they hope to identify partnership opportunities with local businesses, benefactors, and foundations interested in making a continued positive impact, and in keeping this important historical property thriving.

As Brian says, “Preserving the history of this wonderful property has been of upmost importance. Restoration efforts to date have been done in the most original and careful way possible. Certain needed restoration efforts are, however, out of the scope of normal business operations and yet are still very important to the property and community for continued historic preservation. Funds raised throughout this fund raising campaign will go directly towards the many ongoing restoration projects to keep this rich history alive.”
