Skeeters, the revolutionary new adjustable skateboard footing that helps any beginner feel like a pro, is live on global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and raising funds to bring the project to life.Pulling off some of the more impressive skateboard tricks can be daunting, especially for beginners. Skeeters is a groundbreaking new support device designed to keep a rider’s feet firmly planted on the board so that they can perfect the skills required for nearly all categories of skateboarding tricks, including rails, bowls, ramps, boxes, carving and ollies.
“As a lifelong skater and professional wakeboarder I would often find massive hills for skating and, on some of the trickier ones, had to bail off my board to catch a curb, as I couldn’t Ollie. Then it hit me. ‘What if I could jump and not worry about the board leaving my feet, like when I wakeboard?’ says founder Daniel Wendelschafer on the inspiration behind the project. “After some patent research revealed a void in the marketplace for anything like such a device and the design of proven successful prototypes, Skeeters was born.”
Skeeters is suitable for all ages and experience levels who can successfully stand on a skateboard with balance. The essential requirement is stability; the rider will need to be able to pump or push in a forward motion while staying on the board. Once the rider has thoroughly practiced jumping, the ‘Ollie trainer’ option allows a rider to remove the back bracket so that the foot can slide to complete the Ollie motion while supported by the front skeeter.
“Our goal was to create a product that not only elevated the skateboarding experience but was also easy to install and use,” adds Wendelschafer. “Skeeters is fully adjustable to a skater’s ride style and shoe style, has a front back that rotates about 60 degrees for chosen stance, and is vertically adjustable to account for different shoe sizes and angle preferences.”
