Family and friends had a great time participating in the cornhole tournament. Even though it rained, the event was very successful.

Raising money for charity can be hard but creating an entertaining event makes the task easier. That is what The Mark Tucker Foundation did and personal injury attorney Dennis Hernandez joined them. The First Annual Cornhole Tournament was created to raise donations for local charities. It was hosted at O’Briens Irish Pub in Tampa, Florida.

When the foundation reached out to Tampa attorney Dennis Hernandez to help sponsor the event, he accepted without hesitation. In 2014, he helped raise donations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and was nominated for the Man of the Year Award. From this experience, he realizes how important it is for community involvement in charity events. So he formed a team and joined in on the fun.

The Spring, The Lynn Sowers Memorial Foundation and Diabetic Charitable Services were the local charities that benefited from the proceeds. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Ronde Barber attended the event as well to show his support and bring awareness to juvenile diabetes.

Sponsoring and participating in charitable events is a cause Mr. Hernandez is passionate about now and in the future. After sponsoring an art charity auction last year, he was quoted as saying the following:

“At Dennis Hernandez & Associates, we’re always looking to make a difference in people’s lives, whether it’s through providing first class legal representation, or by supporting worthy causes that affect our local communities, I’m very pleased that we were able to raise over $351,000.”

His goal is to not only raise donations and awareness for local charities but to create and sponsor events that bring families together. Teaming up with The Mark Tucker Foundation and others provides the opportunity to help them achieve success.

Dennis Hernandez knows how rewarding it is when you help those in need and give back to the community. His hope is that someday a cure is found and the need for these events is no longer necessary. However, until that day comes, he will continue dedicating his time and efforts on sponsoring more in the future.
